Who really gives a crap that Tony Hayward went to a yacht race? Seriously. What does he need to do cloister himself in a monastery or something?
People are fucking nuts. And it's the faux outrage over crap like this that really makes me question the efficacy of relying on these same outraged people to make sound judgements about the governance of the nation.

I saw that and yawned. Come on, people, aren't there better things to be mad at? I just can't relate to the outrage any more. I stopped by TLC once last week while I was sick and it's become puma central, huh? I recognize those names from the wacky sites. Sad. Haven't watched the news in a week either. Don't miss it much, and really, as sad as I feel for the gulf coast, I just can't look at the oil spill carnage anymore. Being depressed will not change things. Speaking of that, last year we had not one day of rain in June, this year, we've had two days of sun. Happy Solstice! Ugh.
Yeah, I've been ignoring TLC since Gay Veteran called me a dumbass. That was enough for me. Let'em have the run of the place. Hate to say it but Steve brought it on himself. I just can't understand the mentality of slitting your own throat because you're not getting all the things you want as quickly as you want them. Even if Obama was a real progresive, which everyone knew he was not, he still wouldn't be able to satisfy those guys. Would we have been in a better position with Hillary, or McCain? Not appreciably with Hillary and certainly not with McCain and fucking Palin. So let's slam him, turn people off to voting Democratic and hand control back over to the right wing! Duh! And it's true, I have less sympathy for gay causes after dealing with GV and phidipides than I used to. Sad. But true. They're their own worst enemies.
Getting excited for Vegas. Should be fun.
I know, I had to struggle not to paint all gays with the GV distaste - but I have come to the realization that I'm center left not PETA or Greenpeace left. I like critters, I like oceans, but I'm not all about going nuts in public about it. I think it turns people off rather than gets them to notice. I think the best way to move people is on tv shows and in movies. Entertain them, and they'll learn without knowing it. That's prolly why the right is so against Hollywood. They know one Avatar movie will reach more people than a protest in DC. They also know that movies like that that make it big show that more people are sympathetic to left sentiments than even the people know. That's why the total takeover of media. Rush still can't reach as many people as Cameron even on a good day.
Phooey on Vegas. I just booked a cabin in the foothills of the Cascades, a couple hundred feet from a waterfall. Sure, it's got a hot tub and satellite cable and a stocked kitchen, but man, woods! Can't wait til August!

We've got some nice camping trips planned for the summer. Us, the kids and various friends.
Heck, yeah, we're roughing it! There's no dishwasher, for goo'ness sake!
But we've done the tent thing for years, time for a soft getaway, man. There's critters, too, bears and bobcats, maybe a cougar. Should be a hoot.
Hey, I just found out that my pal Izzy of the fancy shoes is going to Netroots with Jerome a Paris. I told Izzy you'd be there and she said youse guys should meet up, if you don't have plans. Jerome's going to be staying at her place for a week or so and he was interested in modern architecture so it sounded like a cool idea. They're still ironing out details, so I'll let ya know, if you're interested. I'm kinda wishing I was coming along!

Good idea about the email. You'll love these guys, and all of you will wonder how I end up with such erudite friends, me being such a goof!
Yeah, it's funny how those trolls couldn't stay away after all this time. I haven't looked for a couple days, but it's only a matter of time before scout shows up, huh? Oy.
