Crazy Louie Gohmert

Every time I think that the Republicans in Congress cannot get any crazier and unhinged then they have previously shown themselves to be....

... manage to prove me wrong.

WTF is wrong with these people?

This shit is happening on the floor of the House of Representatives!  Congressmen comparing President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler!

That's so funny, I was just reading about that here. And yeah, it's bad enough you got this crap on tv and in print, but on the floor of Congress? Just sad.

OMG, paradox got on the rec list with his last spew. Who are these fookin' idjits who fall for that crap??

Ew, I made the mistake of looking at comments and he's waving his tiny chubby around for all to see. It's official, I'm no longer self-describing as a leftie, progressive, or anything that associates with these shit heads. Just sick!

Jon Voight sure does have a good case of the crazy too.

In all fairness, skimming through paradox's post it did seem to be the most coherent thing he's written. Definitely fewer run on sentences and less adjective abuse. But yeah, I saw his "You like me! You really like me!" comment. That was about as far as I got.

In other news, Italy, the defending champs, were eliminated from the World Cup today. Pretty sad. Champs 4 years ago and couldn't get out of the group round this time.

I saw Donovan on Maddow, which was kinda nice. Made me a little more interested. If nothing else, people are sorta aware of other countries now! Maddow also covered the 10 hour tennis match - man, I think it would stop being fun after an hour, but that's just me...

snark said...

Yeah, they finished that match today. 70-68 games in the 5th set was the final. The American beat the Frenchman. To bad someone had to lose that.

USA!USA! Heh. Man, at least they both get in the record book.

Hi folks! Back from Dad's military funeral and most other arrangements. Sister is in town helping with Mom until Monday. Taking a day off until my son's swim meet tonight.

Nice to hook up here. Real calm, much needed from TLC. I'll be around, just lurking until I can really comment more. Probably August.

Hope everyone is doing good.

That was some Wimbledon match. I'm surprised at how poorly the Europeans have done in the World Cup. With Asia and the America's doing really well... go figure.

Talk to everyone soon.

Good to hear from you SoS.

I've given up on TLC. Nothing but gripping over there. Too bad.

Take it easy. We'll leave the light on.

Hey, SoS, I was just thinking about you! Nice to see ya!

Apparently paradox's irony meter is broken.

He writes today about Politico; Simply incomprehensible and insulting to the reader, grossly abusing English...

Dude, seriously?

gone said...

Yeah, it was mean, but I couldn't help myself. Let's see if I'm finally banned!

snark said...

If he's a total hypocrite who can dish on others for their convoluted writing but not take it himself. But we do know he's got an awfully thin skin.

I think his rec list orgasm from yesterday got the best of him. All of a sudden he's critiquing the writing of others? It's high comedy.

gone said...

Well, not to mention Politico has always been a fookin' conservative outlet. Always. The reason they got big is because libs started treating them like a real news org. Now they want to whine about them? Shouldn't have spent all those years linking to that shit. Same with Daily Beast. That site's just crap. Yet it's treated as legit. Starfuckers, alla them.

Ha, found your comment on dKos. Who was it that said this whining about bipartisanship was like a jealous girlfriend whining about a boy looking at another? It certainly feels like that.

snark said...

Yeah, I couldn't resist either. That abusing english bit wasn't low hanging fruit it had fallen off the tree and rolled to my feet.

I found that diary of yours about Phil Donahue, funny! And good point. Another good point is don't go too far into dKos comments, or the meta will getcha. I love how quickly the "no diary" people show up. It's like they're just waiting for violations! Silly people.

Have you seen the Al Gore sex attack yet? WTF? I can't believe it. Or I'd rather not. But shit, now that it's out there, it's gonna be taken as truth.

snark said...

Saw the headlines but didn't really bother. Although, this is a pretty funny piece about it. The woman sounds pretty flakey. Of course there's no coincidence that she decided to revive the ancient claim after the Gore's announced their seperation and then she went to the Enquirer looking for a million to tell her story.

Of course, on TPM, there's the inevitable commenter woman saying 'why does everyone take the politician's side over the woman?' crap. Still, any dem should know better than to be alone with anyone at any time, because of things like this. A massage? In a hotel room? Alone? Seems a no brainer.

But yeah, you're right, it's all about the climate change bill and the divorce. We're such a silly country!

Finally rented The Road. It was just like the book, harrowing and ultimately uplifting (in a harrowing sort of way). Loved it.

snark said...

Haven't seen it yet but I loved the book. I did watch The Book of Eli which wasn't horrible but was really just a rip off of The Road Warrior and The Road. NJo big loss to miss it.

Have you seen ? Loved that. Beautifully filmed and good cast.

snark said...

Ummm....that should be,

Have you seen Shutter Island?

Guess I screwed up the tags.

gone said...

Yeah, watched that last week. Overall, I liked it, but was kinda put off by the intrusive music that started badgering you to feel the gloom and suspense before anything happens. Izzy thought the same thing when we discussed it, but also liked it. Leo was brilliant, as usual, he really gets into his characters. There were a couple weird camera jumps that seemed rather gimmicky, only because they happened at the beginning and then stopped halfway thru. And I figured out the twist almost immediately, though not the details. All in all, though, pretty neat, with Leo getting the most kudos, and fun to watch.

snark said...

I hear ya on the music. The scene where they're first driving up to the hospital gate it sounded like Darth Vader was arriving.

Great story though. I didn't really pick up on the twist til late in the game. Thought it was well done. It's a very different movie once you know that. I actually enjoyed watching it a second time for that reason.

gone said...

Darth Vader! That's exactly what I thought! But I didn't watch a second time, I should have. Just to scope out his "partner's" behaviour. By the end, I was still thinking "but what about the lady in the cave?" Heh.

snark said...

Yeah, the partner behavior comes off in a totally different light once you know what's going on. Also, the tense scene on the dock when they first arrive. And the interactions with the doctors. It really is a different film once you watch it a second time.
